"ETHNO-SOCIAL CHANGES IN THE ARMENIAN DIASPORA. TENDENCIES AND DEVELOPMENTS"

On December 12 and 13 The Department of Diaspora Studies  of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of NAS RA together with The National Museum of Armenian Ethnography and History of the Liberation Struggle will hold an international conference "ETHNOSOCIAL CHANGES IN THE ARMENIAN DIASPORA. TENDENCIES AND DEVELOPMENTS".

The conference is organized with the support of the Committee of Higher Education and Science.

The conference will provide scholars, social researchers and a wide range of interested persons with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with:

  • theoretical and methodological approaches existing in the field of diaspora studies (and not only), economic, cultural, legal and socio-demographic aspects of research problems, methods and tools of diaspora studies, issues of development and implementation of programs aimed at the diaspora,
  • the issues of identity transformation, social and ethno-confessional changes, as well as contemporary socio-cultural changes taking place in the Armenian Diaspora.

The two-day conference will feature presentations by participants from Armenia and various countries, including Lebanon (Beirut), Czech Republic (Prague), Russia (Moscow), USA (Michigan), Lithuania (Vilnius), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Ukraine (Kiev), Hungary (Budapest).
