Ruben Karapetyan-Head of the department, PhD in History

At the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Ruben Karapetyan

from 1972 till today has organized and led ethno-sociological studies

in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the United States. He is

ethno-sociologist and his scientific interests are ethno-sociology circles,

the sociology, migration, ethno-economic, ethnic conflicts, political, ethno-cultural and 

socio-demographic processes, ethnic minorities and contemplates in own environment. 

He has in a number of published articles and monographs about migration. He has taught

a variety of subjects related to the migration in the major universities of Armenia.

Ruben Karapetyan's doctoral dissertation is also related to migration issues.
