From August 27 to September 9, 2021, the researchers of the Department of Diaspora Studies

Lusine Tanajyan and Sona Nersisyan conducted an ethno-sociological research

On June 13 2021, at the Department of Diaspora Studies was held a regular online seminar-discussion

on religious and ethnic Diasporas. A researcher of the department Salvine Markosyan

made a presentation about Turkish Diaspora. The speaker presented

the history of the formation and development of the Turkish Diaspora, issues related to identity,

the state policy towards the Diaspora and the strategy of the Diaspora, organizations,

issues of Diaspora integration,and manifestations of anti-Armenian policy.

The results of the discussions were summerised during two online seminars.

On June 13 2021, at the Department of Diaspora Studies was held a regular online seminar-discussion

on religious and ethnic Diasporas. A researcher of the department Syuzanna  Barseghyan

made a presentation about Irish Diasora. The speaker presented in detail the peculiarities of the Irish Diaspora, 

the state policy towards the Diaspora, the preconditions and the prevalence of the formation

of Irish Diaspora and the repatriation programs.

Irish Diaspora is considered to be a complex networking organization,

where the state is a member. In this case, the main role of the government is

to promote the participation of Diaspora in solving  important national and state issues.

It’s also important the Diaspora Studies on what basis the policy of the Diaspora is developed.

On June 2 2021,

at the Department of Diaspora Studies was held a regular online seminar-discussion

on religious and ethnic  Diasporas. A researcher of the department Karine Nalbandyan made a presentation about Russian Diasora.

The speaker presented the history, prevlence, economic resources and organizations of the Russian Diaspora.

There were  analysed the economic resources, organizations of the Russian Diaspora, cultural characteristics,

issues of religion and family, Homeland-Diaspora relations, relationships with other diasporas and modern development prospects.

The results of the discussions were summerised during two online seminars.

On June 20, 2021, the Department of Diaspora Studies held another online seminar

dedicated to the study of other religious/confessional and ethnic diasporas.

Lusine Tanajyan, the  researcher of the department, made a presentation.

The speaker presented in detail the typology of the Chinese diaspora,

the history of origin development, distribution and the features of social relations.

Issues related to Chinese foreign policy, structures and identity also were raised.

The results of the discussion were summed up during two meetings.

On April 16, 2021, the Department of Diaspora Studies organises a seminar-discussion.

During the seminar a number of issues related to the formation of Jewish Diaspora,

its dispersal, structures, economy and self-organization were presented

by the researcher of the Department Sona Nersisyan.

The speaker spoke in detail about the peculiarities and nature of Jewish Diaspora.

The discussions on the topic were summed up during two meetings.

The seminars on the formation of religious and ethnic  Diasporas will be ongoing.

On April 8, 2021, the Department of Diaspora Studies organises a seminar-discussion. 

The researcher of the department Nelli Khachaturyan presented a report on

"Religious factor in the formation of the Diaspora (based on the experience of the Ismaili community)".

The speaker presented the formation and the development of Ismaili community and the role of the religious factor

in the formation of the Diaspora.

Discussions on the above topic were summed up in three meetings.

The seminars on the formation religious and ethnic Diasporas will be ongoing.
